Help to fellow bloggers!

Last night Mel & I attended the first Charlotte Bloggers Meetup! We had so much wonderful discussion over dinner and drinks at Charley's, and made me want to be a better blogger!

It's nice to talk with other people that don't think you're crazy for being a blogger :-)

Anyway.... to the point of the post..... there was some talk about the whole 'no follow' thing..... so here are the directions for disabling it

For Wordpress:

Just download remove_follow. Inside the archive you will find remove_follow.php. Upload this file in wp-content/plugins and then activate the plugin in the Plugins section of the Wordpress admin.

For Blogger:

Also- for bloggers, here's the link to getting rid of the navbar at the top of the page...

Hope that helps!

I'm still here.....

I've been horribly sick since Friday evening :-(

Started with an obnoxious sore throat, woke up in tears on Saturday morning- went to the Dr. got meds. Meds didn't work. Got new meds on Monday night- feeling a little better now. However, after getting to work and telling my secretary about all this..... she says " You might have hand foot and mouth disease"

so I googled.....

yep- that sounds like what I have.... tingly, red, itchy palms...... spots on my tounge, starts with a sore throat.... blah blah blah.....

So, I'm in my office today trying to recover. Say a prayer this passes quickly.

I need a break....

Life is getting to me.
I feel like my head is going to explode.
My husband still has no job, and it's taking a toll.
My work load is heavier and heavier these days.
Weight loss is pretty non existant at this point.
I need a vacation pronto- but we have no extra cash.
The fence people came to give us an estimate yesterday on fencing our back yard.... $1800 W.T.F.
I got in a wreck on Monday. (Don't worry, not bad- but enough to have to fork over our $500 deductible)
I want the flooring in our house DONE. I am tired of hearing "I'll do it when I have time" I'm sorry- what is it you're busy doing? But on 2nd thought- I don't think my nerves could take a messy house.
Photography is great, but sucking all my energy.
I've still been applying for part time jobs (as if I have time for them) but no one wants me.
We should really cancel our gym membership, but we do use it, and I suck at trying to work out at home.
We should cancel our satellite service.... but we're under contract and it would cost us more to cancel.
And- I'm about to start my period.....

Before you start telling me "it will be ok" blah blah blah..... I get it... we all have a plan, everything happens for a reason.......

Suck It Target!

Just messaged Jeremy to see if he'd heard from his parents (they were going to check a store near them for the items we wanted)
Here's what he had to say....

me:  heard from your parents?
 Jeremy:  ok
they got a dining room table and 4 dining room chairs, 4 club chairs, coffee table, and loveseat
 me:  good god!
 Jeremy:  yeah
me:  um wow.... what the hell are we going to do with all that!
 Jeremy:  at 85% off
Jeremy:  if we dont want all of it my mom does
 me:  haha awesome
yay go mom!
 Jeremy:  :-)
 me:  we so owe her
 Jeremy:  yeah

Target Rant....

Below, I am ranting about my BAD Target experience..... Please note: I am mad at the Target policy, but I am also mad that Jeremy's parents have our suburban now.

Here's the nice little note I just wrote them, via their website.

Let me start by saying, I love Target and am a loyal customer, but I have an issue with one of your store policies. I found out yesterday afternoon your patio furniture was 75% off. After dinner, my husband and I jumped in our Honda Civic and headed over to the Concord, NC store and checked it out. You only had a couple of pieces, and after seeing the sheet with all the pieces in the collection, we set out to find all the pieces. We visited 4 stores last night with no luck. This morning I drove an hour to another store and poof! There were all the pieces! (I am driving my VW Bug) I was told by multiple store employees that I could not pay for the items in question (over $400 of merchandise) and send my husband to get it with his truck later today. I don't understand why this is such a big deal. I almost feel like Target is punishing us for having small, fuel efficient cars. I also don't understand why the same pieces online are over 4X more expensive- thus making us not able to afford to order them online and have them delivered.

The pieces we wanted were the Smith and Hawkin Windsor Metal Loveseat (Item 009002361), and the Windsor Metal Set of 4 Dining Chairs (

Back to work.....

I always hate coming back to the office after a long weekend, who doesn't? We had a wonderful long weekend, full of laziness. Friday we made a quick trip down to Wilmington to 1) meet with one of our September wedding couples, and take some engagement photos for them. 2) see my sister and her family while they were down at Carolina Beach on vacation 3) Show Jeremy the lot were buying! no... he hadn't seen it yet....
Then we tried our best to make a beeline out of town, and come back home.... We left Carolina beach just before 10PM, and were starving, we hadn't had a chance to eat dinner yet and decided BBQ sandwiches and sweet tea from Smithfields would be the cure. We pulled in the drive thru about 1010PM... ordered, pulled around, paid, told it would be a few moments, waited, then the guy who probably took our order came to the window to inform us they were OUT OF BBQ!!!! WTF... how can a BBQ restaurant be OUT of BBQ??? Not only that, but couldn't you have told me that 5 mins ago when I ordered???  Needless to say Smithfields corporate got a note from me the next morning. I really don't want to boycott Smithfields, but if I don't at least get an apology, I might have to.... ugh!
So we left that side of town and headed for a Bojangles.... closed. We finally settled on Taco Bell... bleh... before finally leaving Wilmington about 11PM.... We made it home just before 3AM..... we were sleepy!

Jeremy and I have also decided to each purchase some TOMS shoes. We have to go to summer camp next week for my job and must wear close toed shoes.... FML. I HATE close toe shoes with a passion. We didn't want to take our nice tennis shoes, and my only other option are the crocs I wore last year (which were neither stylish or very comfy) so TOMS seemed to be the solution.....  Jeremy called one local store that carried them to see when they closed on Sunday, 6PM (he called about 530) so we jumped in the car, made it up there by 550.... door locked. Employee inside. Ignored us. SO.... I left them nasty reviews on google. I do want to call the store too and let them know exactly how I feel about this situation.

We tried to find other stores yesterday that carries them. We headed to Concord.... the place listed was the Shoe Show distribution center.... no dice. Then later last night we headed to two other places in downtown Charlotte- both closed in observance of the 4th..... UGH!!!! So Jeremy is venturing out on his own today to find a pair, and I'll go tonight.

So.... this was frustrating to say the least. But, our weekend did end well with yummy dinner at Mels!

Check out our Photo Blog for a few pics from our weekend!
