Welcome to the Newlywed Peephole! I am Jessica Horton, a recently married gal writing about all the trials and tribulations I face with my husband. You'll also see lots of shopping stuff (I am a total deal hunter!) and interior design photos. I love home decor, and I love seeing pretty things. I also have an interest in real estate, and at the end of this week (August 6, 2010) I will own my third property. (one home, 2 pieces of land). I'll also rant and rave about places and products here- If I have a bad experience I will let you know... and I will try and be better about raving equally as much!
We currently live in Davidson, NC with our two doggies- Gus Gus ( my puggle, pug/beagle mix) and Jeremy's dog, Bender (a black lab) and my kitty, Lucy. I purchased our home July 31, 2008- it's a new 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home- on a teeny tiny 0.05 of an acre.
We were engaged about 1.5 months later in September of 2008, and were married October 3rd, 2009.
I work full time for the North Carolina State Grange. A nonprofit, community service organization started after the Civil War to help farmers restore their land. I am the Membership Director and Event Coordinator and really love my job! I get to travel all over NC and the USA meeting Grangers everywhere.
Jeremy worked for 2.5 years as a Civil Engineer, EI before being laid off in January of 2010. He is currently looking for a new job in these areas; Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Washington DC & Chicago. (These are the 2 cities I am willing to relocate to).
After we married, I decided I wanted to pursue my interest in photography. We opened JJ Horton Photography late last year, and are enjoying being our own bosses for once.
